Labrador tea leaf
Wild Labrador tea is a small aromatic shrub that grows in boggy and wet areas across Canada. Another common name for this hardy plant is “Trappers Tea” or Hudson’s Bay Tea”. The leaves are said to be high in vitamin C and traditionally were used as a substitute for black tea.
Due to volatile oils found in Labrador Tea, this herb should only be steeped for short periods of time before enjoying.
Due to the narcotic elements in this tea, as well as the potent active ingredients, Labrador tea is not recommended for pregnant women or those who are breastfeeding, as it can negatively affect the fetus or infant.
Please research all natural products before using them and be sure to consult with your healthcare practitioner if you are pregnant, on medication or have a pre-existing health condition before use.
